Born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area, Karan moved to British Columbia to attend law school, where he obtained his Juris Doctor from the Faculty of Law at Thompson Rivers University in 2022. During his time at law school, Karan was a teaching assistant to first-year law students and was awarded the Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP Prize in Torts Law for the highest academic achievement amongst his class. 

Karan previously attended Carleton University in Ottawa, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, with a minor in History and Indigenous Studies. Concurrently, Karan was also a Reservist Infantry Soldier in the Canadian Armed Forces for 4 years, and a member of the Governor General’s Foot Guards and later the 4th Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment. This entailed completion of military training courses, field exercises, and Ceremonial Guard duties while simultaneously earning his undergraduate degree: classes during the week, and military training on the weekends and summers. An incredibly rewarding experience as he would describe, which provided skills and characteristics that he brings with him into the practice of law.   

Karan joined Apna Law LLP in 2023 as an associate. Since this time, Karan has obtained considerable trial experience as both lead and second chair in civil litigation and personal injury matters.

He primarily practices in the areas of estate litigation, personal injury, and civil litigation. Karan has appeared before the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia

Other Interests

In his spare time, Karan enjoys hiking, camping, portaging, and anything outdoors. He also enjoys travelling, reading, playing basketball, and spending time with family and friends.
