OUR MISSION

Apna Law was established out of a request from our clients.  Jasroop and James were regularly being approached by prospective clients across British Columbia who were either dissatisfied with their current counsel, or were seeking a lawyer who they could connect and communicate effectively with.  As they began to assist more clients in the community, they realized that there was a need for young litigators with trial experience to assist those who were navigating injury, estate, employment and defamation litigation claims on their own.  As a result, Apna Law was born.

Apna Law is a team of litigators who work together on all of our cases, big or small.  Our focus is on communicating regularly with our clients to ensure that they understand the complicated world of personal injury claims and other types of lawsuits.  In personal injury claims, we regularly represent clients with complex injuries including soft tissue injuries, orthopedic fractures, brain injuries, psychological injuries and neurological injuries. In other areas, we regularly represent clients dealing with estate, employment, defamation (libel or slander), and business issues. Our approach is the same regardless of the area of law. We pride ourselves on constant strategic analysis and effective communication with our clients.

Regardless of the legal issue you face, feel free to contact us. If we are not able to help you with your legal issue we can refer you to one of the many lawyers in our network.

WHAT IS “APNA” LAW?

“Apna” is a Punjabi word when loosely translated to English means “ours”. We chose to name our firm Apna Law as it is indicative of the approach we take to the practice of law; namely, we see the practice of law as a collaborative effort between the lawyers and the clients. We like our clients to be well informed of their files and the litigation they are involved in. We have found that by taking this approach, our clients tend to better understand and feel more comfortable with the process of litigation.

The second reason we chose this name for our firm is we wanted to have a name that reflected the high value we place on diversity and inclusivity. It is important to us that people, whether client, colleague or acquaintance, are treated the same regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation and so forth. This is a value we carry with us as a business, as lawyers, and as humans.
